She flashes a small smile, bumping her shoulder into his arm. “Is that sadness I hear? Are you actually missing social interaction?”
Maggie tugged on her sweater, pulling it closer before hoping he wouldn’t maim her for the brief physical touch.
“No.” He rolled his eyes, despite the smile that threatened to rise at her teasing. It was odd, but he felt more relaxed at that moment then he had in sometime. “Though I suppose there are certain people I would not mind speaking with.”
“Like little ol’ me?” she teased, slipping by him and finding a spot on the couch. She tilted her head and smiled. “Or are my cat jokes too much?”
Her shoulders sag and she yawns, pushing her hair out of her face as she settles behind her desk. It was honestly too early for this, she thought before sipping the hot mug of coffee beside her stapler.
